DIMENSIONS OF THE POSITION:
Provides technology transfers through on the job training and discussions to all national staff within the Geotechnical & Hydro geological Group to improve and promote their skills and knowledge which will result in better skilled team members with more positive and useful contribution to the work group. Provides a high level of geotechnical expertise, with the ability to analyse slope designs critically. Provides a necessary resource to reduce reliance on Consultants and ensure that knowledge and expertise remains in-house.
PURPOSE:
To direct and carry out high level geotechnical slope analysis projects for facilities in the Mine, supported by staff from the Geotechnical & Hydro geological Group, to benefit the profitability and safety of the mining operations, and hasten the skill and knowledge transfer to National engineers, thus promoting the Succession Planning process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, included but not limited to:
-Comply with all PTNNT Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental requirements as well as those required under the Decree of the Ministry of Mines and Energy Number 555.K/26/M.PE and the Decree of the Ministry of Mines and Energy Number 1211.K/008/M.PE/1995.
-Comply with all SHLP, Environment and Social Responsibility requirements under Newmont Asia Pacific Integrated Management System, Newmont vision and values.
-Ensure assigned projects are effectively implemented, with appropriate procedural controls to achieve the best result possible, within an agreed to time-frame.
-Promotion of National employee training, skill development and Succession Planning.
-Provide high level technical support to the Geotechnical & Hydro geological Group covering detailed slope design analysis, QA/QC of data collection and processing, etc.
-Provide technical support to the Superintendent and Snr. Specialist Engineer – Geotechnical when providing slope design recommendations to Mine Planners and Management.
-Improve and expand on the continuous improvement process by providing innovative ideas and/or introducing alternative technologies.
-Perform on-the job training (formal & in-formal) covering: slope stability analysis, slope failure mechanisms, rock/soil mass assessment, slope monitoring, geotechnical mapping and core logging, core orientation, sampling and laboratory testing, structural geology, etc.
-Edit and review technical reports as required – both produced by PTNNT and consultants.
-Work with consultants on as required basis.
-Motivate subordinates to participate in necessary training programs to improve and promote their skills and knowledge, which will result in better skilled team members with more positive and useful contribution to the work group.
-Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner, following pre-assigned project priorities.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Mandatory Requirements for this position:
-B.Sc. or MSc Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field and minimum of ten (10) years of directly related experience is required.
Desirably Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
-Advanced technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering in hard rock environments is required, with lesser knowledge of soil and soft rock environments required.
-A sound knowledge and understanding of structural geology and slope failure mechanisms is a pre-requisite. Time spent in a senior consulting role, with a reputable consulting group would be favourable.

DIMENSIONS OF THE POSITION:
Position supervises Senior Foremen and Foremen in the day to day activities associated with the electrical maintenance of Electric Rope Shovels, Blast Hole Drills, Pit Power Distribution, Dispatch and In Pit pumping Systems.
PURPOSE:
To coordinate the activities of NNT maintenance and Contractor maintenance work across shifts and to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet production and maintenance needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, included but not limited to:

-Reviews all maintenance schedules and coordinates activities with other departments in order to ensure optimal equipment and operation availability to meet business needs.
-Monitors and reviews costs; establishes and maintains budgets; recommends replacement of updating of equipment.
-Reviews and updates departmental procedures and policies, administers discipline, enforces company policy, and ensures compliance with state, federal, or other jurisdictional laws.
-Responds to emergencies that could cause injury to personnel or loss of operational efficiency.
